Biography – Angela C. Jenifer


Angela C. Jenifer was born in Morristown, TN and is a product of the Tennessee and the North Carolina public school systems.  An educator for 21 years, Mrs. Jenifer has served as a teacher, grade-level chair, Instructional Math Coach, District Data Analyst, and currently serves as Assistant Principal of “The” Jackson Elementary School.

Mrs. Jenifer started her career in education in the Fairfax County, Virginia Public School System.  During her tenure there, she taught fourth and sixth grade and served as technology lead and grade-level chairperson.  After relocating to Georgia, Mrs. Jenifer taught in the Fulton County Public Schools and then came to Clayton County Public Schools where she has been a dedicated employee since 2002.

Mrs. Jenifer began her tenure in Clayton County at Adamson Middle School where she taught Mathematics, then served as the Choral Music Teacher.  After leaving Adamson, Mrs. Jenifer went back to elementary school to teach as a fifth grade early intervention teacher at James A. Jackson Elementary school.  After two years, Mrs. Jenifer was promoted to Instructional Math Coach for Mt. Zion Elementary School.  As an Instructional Math Coach, she provided ongoing math support to teachers and students by implementing standards-based methodologies with fidelity.  Teachers were trained by Mrs. Jenifer on the usage of data systems, and how to effectively utilize the data to inform planning and instruction.

Mrs. Jenifer was promoted to District Data Analyst for Clayton County Schools.  She worked closely with district-level and school-level leadership by preparing and presenting assessment data results.  She provided support to elementary, middle and high schools, implementing strategies for improving achievement using formative and summative assessment data.

Mrs. Jenifer was promoted to Assistant Principal of Jackson Elementary School where she has provided leadership to the Jackson School of the Arts program. 

Mrs. Jenifer is a member of Cascade United Methodist Church, where she utilizes her musical talents as a member of the Praise Team and a member of the New Advent Choir.  She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 

Mrs. Jenifer received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Hampton University, and a master’s degree in Music Education from Hampton University.  Mrs. Jenifer also has earned her credentials in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia, and has an earned Master’s of Information Technology from American InterContinental University.  Mrs. Jenifer is married to Theodore Jenifer, also a Hampton University graduate. He is a Database Architect. They have one daughter, Victoria.  She is a Biology Pre-Med student at Hampton University.

Mrs. Jenifer enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family. Mrs. Jenifer was influenced and mentored at a young age by her mother who was an educator.  She also served in Clayton County Schools at Pointe South Elementary.    Mrs. Jenifer believes in enjoying life by being of service to others.  She lives by the quote, “Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift”.
