Mrs. Hartwell

Dear Parents:

Welcome to Jackson Elementary!  I am excited to have the opportunity to share my energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge with you and your child. My plans are to make this year the best year of your child’s educational career. This will be the beginning of a very rigorous school year. We will embark upon many new exciting and engaging learning activities.

I would like to take this time to introduce myself to you.  I am Torey Hartwell and I will be your child’s new fourth grade Math and Science teacher. I am a native Atlantan and have lived in Atlanta my entire life.  I have been married for 21 years and have two children (24 and 17).
I obtained my Bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University in Social Work, my Master’s degree from Mercer University in the Art of Teaching with a certification in Early Childhood Education, and my Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning from Georgia Southern University.  I also hold a Gifted Endorsement.  This is my seventh year teaching in which I have previously taught both third and fifth grades.
During my spare time I enjoy baking with my daughter. My hobbies include reading, cooking, arts and crafts, and playing tennis.
I refer to my class as 'College 4 Kids'. I am extremely passionate about educating and enjoy making learning fun and effective.  Your child will be introduced to a rigorous learning that will require them to challenge themselves beyond their expectations.
You will be extremely proud of the growth that your child will demonstrate as they progress throughout this school year. I look forward to being your child's teacher for this school year.
