Mrs. B. Baker

As an educator, I see myself as a scientist relying on research by other practitioners in order to enhance the art of my teaching. I have been practicing this art for thirteen years. Each day I enter the classroom, I acquire new knowledge through inquiry. Inquiry ignites curiosity which is the heartbeat of desire and it is the desire to teach that keeps me in the classroom.

I also see myself as a literacy leader; able to analyze and synthesize quality instruction that have been proven effective.  I try to use a critical approach when I am teaching.  I question ideas, I reflect each day, and I implement new and old practices that are proven effective.  I have come to realize that theories, polices, and philosophies about teaching and learning are constantly changing because the world is becoming more global; so I seek new ways of developing a balanced, multidimensional, and a multicultural framework when I teach.

Welcome to a GREAT YEAR!
