Administration
PRINCIPAL
I am Mrs. Angela Jenifer. I am a dedicated and passionate educator, and I serve as the Principal at Jackson Elementary School.
I developed a love for learning early on, inspired by my parents who both worked in the education sector. I earned my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Elementary Education and Music Education from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia and later pursued a degree in Information Technology from American InterContinental University and earned an Educational Leadership certification from the University of Georgia.
My journey in education began as a classroom teacher, where I honed my skills and cultivated a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. My commitment to fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues became evident as I took on various leadership roles within the school community. With an unwavering dedication to the success and well-being of every student and a deep understanding of the unique needs of elementary students, I transitioned into administration, holding positions such as Assistant Principal before assuming the current role as Principal. Under my leadership, the school has witnessed remarkable growth in academic achievements and a strengthened sense of community.
As a leader, I am a strong advocate for professional development, ensuring that my faculty and staff stay abreast of the latest educational research and methodologies. As such, I promote an innovative approach to education, implementing programs that cater to diverse learning styles and encourage creativity. Beyond academics, I am committed to creating a supportive and safe school environment. This includes actively collaborating with parents, involving them in their child's education and fostering a sense of partnership between home and school.
Outside of my professional professional life, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and promoting the importance of a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom.
The success of our children is a collaborative effort. Feel free to communicate with me to share your comments, questions, or concerns. I may be reached at the school number (678-610-4401) or by email (angela.jenifer@clayton.k12.ga.us).
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with you this year.
I am Walter J. Buttler, Assistant Principal for "THE" Jackson Elementary School.
This is my 32nd year in education. As such, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position. Academically, I have earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in early childhood education, and a master’s degree in educational leadership. Experientially, I have taught pre-k and third grade in New York and fourth and fifth grades at Kay Pace Elementary School of the Arts here in Clayton County Schools. I have been principal of two private elementary schools in New York, an elementary assistant principal in Henry County Schools, principal of a public K-8 charter school in Fulton County Schools, and principal of a middle school in Henry County Schools. In 2022 I returned to the Jackson Elementary campus (I was here for part of the 2018-2019 school as a Pace teacher) to be an instructional support teacher. I was named assistant principal here in August of 2023. I love teaching and leadership because I know I can make a difference in children’s lives. I care deeply about each student and I want each of them to succeed. I believe each student can succeed through diligent work and a positive attitude.
I was born in Long Island, New York and I lived there until 2006 when I moved here to Georgia. I have been married for two years to my wonderful wife, Robin. She is a certified life coach and the chief operating officer of Dream Releaser Coaching. I have five children: Brandon, 29; Kelly, 27; Colin, 24; Jordan, 22; and Aaron, 21. Brandon is married to Michaela and they have a beautiful daughter, Daisy, who is one year old.
Being part of the Jackson Elementary School community is a great privilege! I look forward to working together with students, parents, staff members, and community members to enable JES to ensure success for each student so that together we can build a better tomorrow, today.
